Günther obtains IFS Logistics Certificate „Higher Level“
Obtaining the IFS Logistics Certificate for the family run company means having now also received the formal recognition of being a competent logistic partner für the food industry and food retail sector.
The certificate was obtained in december 2010 and was reached at „Higher Level“.
Günther established itself also as a specialist in the field of temperature controlled transports and alone in this field it can look back on a experience of over 10 years now.
As qualified partner for the food industry and food retail market starting with the collection of the products at their producer until their delivery to the central distribution platform, the company counts a consisting amount of regular customers in its home region South Tyrol as well as in the remaining Italian regions, in Germany, Benelux and in many other European countries.
The International Food Standard (IFS) Logistics represents a quality standard for transport companies in the food business. Generally it is a standard for auditing all logistics activities for food and non-food products, such as transport, storage, distribution, loading/ unloading, etc. For buyers and quality managers in the retail and industry sector the standard creates transparency about the way products are treated in the logistics chain.
Particular attention is given to hygiene and risk management, resource planning, temperature control, tidiness and traceability.
When creating the standard the know how and the experience of major German and French retailers as well as that of major German logistics suppliers played an important role.
It is particularly worth mentioning that the family run Günther company not only received formal recognition of conformity of its processes with the standard but the IFS requirements were met and fulfilled at a “higher level”.
The certification procedure was undergone under the authority of the TÜV Süd Management Service GmbH.
